Oooey-Gooey Cinnamon rolls. Good Morning to Cinnamon Rolls There is is no better way than to wake up your family with the wonderful aroma of fresh baked cinnamon rolls. You really can not capture that smell in a candle or air freshener. There are many ways to make the yummy rolls. One of my favorite short cuts as a baker is using Pillsbury Hot roll mix. Its not expensive and has easy to use instruction on the box. The results are very similar with shorter time. I like my icing recipe better. I love short cuts but when I am teaching my kiddos how to bake something. I always like to show them how to do it from scratch. The following is my favorite cinnamon roll recipe from a Pillsbury cook book that was given to me as a gift in 1993. Do not forget if you can not see the recipe to click on the picture. That is what I have to do on my phone.

Cinnamon Roll Sweet Dough:
6 to 7 cups of all purpose flour
1/2 cup of sugar
2 teaspoons salt
2 pkg active dry yeast
1 cup hot water
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup of butter
1 egg
In large bowl combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. In small saucepan, heat water and milk to almost to hot to touch. Add warm milk mixture to dry mixture and mix add egg. Mix for 3 minutes. Stir in about 3 more cups of flour by hand.
On floured surface knead in 1 to 2 cups of flour till dough is smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap till double in size about 1 hour. Punch down and roll out to get a 18 x 12 rectangle. Add filling

Filling: My recipe
1 and 1/2 stick of butter
3 tsp of cinnamon
3 tsp of flour
1 cup of brown sugar
Soften butter mix in the other ingredients. Spread on the rolled out dough. And roll the dough up. Slice the rolled dough in 1 and 1/2 inch slices. Place in a heavy buttered 13×9 pan. Let rise in warm place for 30 -40 minutes. You want it to double in size ( hint I turn my over on low setting and warm it . Then I turn it off to rise my bread products) Bake at 350 degrees till slightly golden brown. ABout 25 to 30 minutes depending on your over. Time to ice

Sheri’s favorite icing:

2 stick of butter softened
2 tsp of vanilla
1/4 cup cream cheese
4 cups of powdered sugar
1/4 cup of milk( more if you like it thinner)

Mix all till super smooth. Spread on hot rolls and enjoy.
